How does the Reserves Locker work?
Answer:
To use the Reserves Locker (located just outside our front entrance), you'll first need to put an item on hold and select the "Reserves Locker" pickup location. This tells our staff that you want to pick the item(s) up in a locker rather than inside at the checkout desk.
Once you've put the item(s) on hold, wait for the library to send you a text or email that they are ready for pickup. Your notification email will tell you whether the item you requested will be picked up inside ("Library") or outside in the lockers ("Reserves Locker").
Now's the fun part - get your item(s), even if we're closed! The Reserves Locker is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you can pick up your holds on your schedule.
When at the kiosk, you'll tap the "Checkout" button and scan your library card. You can also type your card number in manually. You'll be taken to a screen that lets you know what item(s) you have ready to pick up. Tap "Accept" and the system will automatically pop open the locker that holds your item(s). Take your item(s) from the locker, and don't forget to shut the locker door! If you get a notice that you have two or more lockers, make sure you accept the holds in all lockers.
Currently, the Reserves Locker does not have a paper receipt printer. You can, however, ask for an email receipt to see the due dates on each of your item(s). Tap "Finish" to send the kiosk back to the home screen; the screen will automatically time out and return to the home screen if you do not tap "Finish."
If you have any questions about the Reserves Locker, start a chat with a librarian! You can also stop by the Information Desk at the library, and staff would be happy to show you how it works.
