Libby is one of the digital libraries that RPL offers access to for cardholders. Libby is the name of the mobile app for the service operated by Overdrive; when accessed online, you will see it titled Arkansas Library2Go. Longtime users of the library may remember the Overdrive app - it was sunset in 2023 and replaced by Libby.

Libby/Library2Go has a large collection of ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines to checkout. There is no monthly limit on checkouts, but you can only checkout 5 items at once. Once you finish a title you can return it early, or it will be returned automatically on the due date. Once it has been removed from your shelf, a borrow will be restored to your account limit and you can start checking out again. Borrowing magazines does not count toward your borrow limit, so you can borrow as many as you like!

Items in Libby cannot be borrowed by multiple users at once, so a title you are looking for may not always be immediately available. Items that are currently checked out by another patron will have the option for you to place a hold. The app will tell you what your place in line is, and send you a notification when it is ready for you to borrow. You can place 5 holds at once.

Items in Libby can be renewed if you're not finished when your due date arrives. If the item is on hold for another patron, however, you will not be able to renew but may place it on hold for yourself to check out the next time around. 

If an item is on hold but you want to borrow it sooner, check out our collections on Hoopla! The title may be available there, and items on Hoopla are always available (no holds and waitlists!).
