How do I use the tablets outside the Meeting Rooms?

Answer:

Tablets were recently installed outside each Meeting Room to make it easier for patrons to determine if a room is available for use, to check in or out of their reservation, and to check the future availability of a room. Here are some ways to use the tablets!

If you need to use a room without a reservation, the tablets will come in handy to help you find an open and available room. When at the library, stop by each room and look for these:

  • Rooms that are available for use will be empty and display a green screen that says "Available." If a screen says available, but the room is occupied, that room is not available for you to use - you are not permitted to ask other patrons to leave the room.
  • If a screen says "Upcoming Booking," that means someone has reserved the room and their reservation time is starting very soon. It is a good idea to find another room so you don't get set up and then have to leave right away.
  • If a screen says "In Use," that means someone has the room reserved at this time. The screen will also tell you when their reservation is over, so you can come back and check if the room is open at that time.
  • Use the "Show Availability" button to check on the rest of the day's availability for the room, or its availability for the next 7 days.

If you are at the library and need to reserve a room for another day, stop by the tablets and grab your smartphone. You can scan the QR code on the tablet, and it will take you to our Room Booking Page where you can reserve the room for a future date. Remember: no same-day reservations please!

If you already have a reservation, you can go straight to your booked room. Take a look at the tablet - there will be a button you can tap to check-in for your reservation. You'll need your check-in code, which can be found in the email sent to you when your reservation was approved. If you can't find the code, you can let someone at the Information Desk know that you've arrived and staff can check-in for you on their accounts. Don't forget to check-out before you leave!
