When will the library fully reopen?

Answer:

The City of Rogers has recently published a webpage that outlines all of the tornado related damages and repair timelines for each area of the city that was affected - including the library! You can visit the webpage here: https://www.rogersar.gov/1546/Tornado-Damaged-City-Facilities-Update

The city expects this page to be updated monthly. As of April 2025, they have put out the following information regarding the Library:

Scope of Damage: Damage to the Rogers Public Library includes the front glass entry, monument sign, multiple areas of the roof, soffits, ceiling grid, ceiling tiles, electrical, lighting, awnings, radiant heat, HVAC, flooring, and drywall.

Action Items: A number of minor items have been repaired to allow the main entry to be used. Over the past several months, the city has worked with multiple engineers concerning the numerous roof issues to determine the best course of action. Drawings and specifications are scheduled to be completed by the end of April, with bids being opened in late May. Along with the work listed above, the final scope of work will also include improvements to the exterior drainage to help move groundwater away from the building perimeter. This information will be updated as we move through the process.

Anticipated Completion: We anticipate completion of all repairs by the 4th quarter of 2025.

Remember that even while we await the completion of repairs the library is OPEN! We are offering services in the lobby, including prints/copies, holds pickup, new-book browsing, reader's advisory, craft packets, the seed library, limited laptop use, and library programs in the Community Room. We are just as anxious as you are to fully reopen the library, and we hope to do so soon. Any information that we receive from the City of Rogers regarding reopening will be relayed to the public via our website and social media pages as soon as it is received.
