When will the library fully reopen?

Answer:

Exciting news! Repair work on the library will begin the first week of September! Beginning Monday, August 25th, library programs will NOT meet at the Rogers Public Library while repairs are being made.

Events meeting off site like Books and Brews will still meet. Some of our Children's events are also being held off-site. We will continue to share updates on programing, such as alternative off-site locations, on our website and social media pages, or you may check our event calendar for updates.

We will continue to offer services in our lobby as these repairs are being made. Throughout the repair process, some areas may be unavailable for library staff to retrieve materials, so there may be delays in fulfilling holds.

The City of Rogers has published a webpage that outlines all of the tornado related damages and repair timelines for each area of the city that was affected - including the library! You can visit the webpage here: https://www.rogersar.gov/1546/Tornado-Damaged-City-Facilities-Update

The city expects this page to be updated monthly. As of late September 10th, 2025, they have put out the following information regarding the Library:

Scope of Damage: Damage to the Rogers Public Library includes the front glass entry, monument sign, multiple areas of the roof, soffits, ceiling grid, ceiling tiles, electrical, lighting, awnings, radiant heat, HVAC, flooring, and drywall.

Action Items: Repair work has begun in numerous areas inside the library. Damaged ceiling grid, lighting, drywall, flooring, and HVAC ductwork are being removed and replaced in the affected areas. New roofing materials have been ordered and will be delivered soon to the site. Work on the roof will be staged in a way to help expedite the opening of certain areas while work continues in other parts of the building. Parking and access to the front doors will be limited during the construction timeframe, but the Library intends to provide continued service during this timeframe.

Anticipated Completion: We anticipate completion of all repairs by Spring of 2026.

Remember that even while we await the completion of repairs the library is OPEN! We are offering services in the lobby, including prints/copies, holds pickup, new-book browsing, reader's advisory, craft packets, the seed library, limited laptop use, and more. We are just as anxious as you are to fully reopen the library, and we hope to do so soon. Any information that we receive from the City of Rogers regarding reopening will be relayed to the public via our website and social media pages as soon as it is received.
