I lost my library card, can I still check out items?

Answer:

We know it can be easy to misplace your library card, so there are a few things you can do if you can't find your card: replace the card, checkout without a card, or use the Librista app.

You can replace your card at any time. New cards are $2 each. Please note that a new card will come with a new number, so if you replace your card you will need to update any digital services you use (i.e. Libby, Hoopla, etc.) with the new card number.

If you aren't ready to buy a new card, you can still checkout! You are allowed three checkouts per year without your library card. If you have your library card memorized, you may also be able to use our self-checkout machine and manually type in your card number.

When you sign up for your library account, it's a good idea to also download and set up the Librista app. Because it's linked to your account, it has a digital copy of your library card right in the app! In the app, navigate to your account and look for the icon next to your name that looks like an ID. Tapping that icon will pull up your digital library card, which can be scanned at the Checkout desk or using the self-checkout. This counts as using your actual library card, and does not count toward your allotted three times checking out without a card.
