I think the library should have a certain book added to their collection. How do I suggest the book?

Answer:

We strive to have materials for everyone, and suggestions for purchases are one way to make sure that happens! If you would like the library to add a book, audiobook, movie, or any other type of item to our collections you can make a purchase suggestion. We can't guarantee that every suggested item will be added to our collections, but we do take suggestions into account when deciding whether to purchase.

You can make a suggestion yourself by using our online purchase suggestion form. You can also start a chat with a librarian, or give the Information Desk a call at 479-621-1152 option 1, and staff would be happy to fill out the form on your behalf. You will have the option to provide your name and library card number if you wish to have the item put on hold for you if and when it is purchased.

Note that it can take longer for suggested items to be available for checkout depending on the time of year the suggestion is made. Requests made toward the end of the year may not be purchased until the following year due to the library's budgeting schedule. If you are suggesting an item because you'd like to check it out, and you need it quicker than we would be able to purchase it, you can always fill out an ILL request.
